My brother wears Timberland Pro Valor boots to work as a law enforcement officer and was having trouble finding them at a good price. Are You Ready?

I can't believe the 4th of July is tomorrow! I have company coming over and I am definitely not ready. Not that that is a real surprise, but still. :) We have plans to smoke baby back ribs and chicken. Later we plan to eat watermelon and watch the fireworks on the beach from the roof deck. My Addiction

I am going to admit this to the world, I am addicted to chocolate. :) I love it in all of its forms from hot chocolate to decadent desserts. One of my favorite places to buy Chocolate Candies is Gertrude Hawk. Have you ever hand any of the chocolates from there? They are so delicious. My husband has it made, he never has to worry about what gift to buy me for my birthday or anniversary. All he has to do is place an order for some of their decadent dipped apples or chocolate covered strawberries and I am in heaven. Of course, he can't go wrong by ordering the fudge either. The chocolate almond coconut fudge is my absolute favorite. Now I'm craving chocoloate! I may have to place an order.

Ah, To Be In Scotland

I would love to be in Scotland right now, it is one of my favorite places on earth. I love the climate, I love the people and I even love the businesses there. Northern Scotland Joinery is a prime example of a beautifully run Scottish business. All of their employees are experienced and have at least 5 years in the industry. I am constantly amazed by the stupid things that people do. I mean really stupid. There is a current news article about a 2 year old baby that was killed by a pet python. Yes, a BABY. These people were stupid enough to have a huge snake in a house with a baby. They say they were surprised that it crawled out of it's cage. I am so appalled by this that I can't even think of anything to say...

My Inner Geek Is Showing

I have spent the morning indulging my inner geek. Some people may be surprised by my love of gadgets and hardware. Don't tell anyone but I would rather buy a new router or keyboard than a new pair of shoes.

I was on one of my favorite sites, Geeks.com. The deals are outrageous. They get closeouts, excess inventory and overruns from manufacturers and sell them directly to the public. You don't have to trust my opinion, Geeks.com has a great rating on PriceGrabber as well as on the ResellerRatings site. I think my favorite thing on Geeks.com is the 1 Day Deal. They have something new on sale every day at a killer price. It is like a treasure hunt to see what the special is.

It's Not Easy

It's not easy being a landlord. I know it sounds easy, you own a building and rent it out and sit back and rake in the money. The reality is that there is a lot to manage. Besides maintenance and security you also have to make sure that things like landlord insurance are in place.

There is a site called LandlordBuddy to help with insurance. The offer useful information on what a landlord needs to know about being properly insured. They also offer a way to view plans offered by different companies and compare them side by side before making a decision. This particular site is geared towards UK residents, I wish I could find one this comprehensive for ones based here in the US.

Standing Room Flying?

Spring Airlines is considering selling tickets for standing room flights. Yeah, standing up while flying. No seat. They say they can pack 40% more people on an airplane that way. With the size of economy class seats I already know more than I like about my fellow passengers. I can't imagine how close we would be standing. They must be planning to pack them in like sardines. I guess that's good since there won't be any seat belts. We'll all be crushed in so closely together there's no chance of falling down.

This is so creepy I don't even want to think about it. A friend returned from vacation with bed bugs. I get itchy just thinking about it. I used to think they were just something from the past. What's Going On?

What's going on with all of the celebrity deaths? First Ed McMahon, then Farrah Fawcet, then Michael Jackson and now Billy Mays. It seems like it is not a good time to be a celebrity. If things stick to the norm, there should be one more. Deaths often come in threes. We are not up to five so there should be one more. Wonder who it will be?

My Favorite Birds

My favorite birds are here and I am thrilled. I am talking about hummingbirds. It is amazing to see so much energy and spirit packed into such a tiny little body. I filled my feeders and hung them up as soon as I saw a hummingbord around the honeysuckle vine.

My niece was here when I put them out and she was fascinated. She and I have been checking out the best hummingbird feeders for her yard. I love giving educational gifts to children. Besides teaching her how to fill and clean the feeders I can teach her about these fascinating little birds. I hope to make a life long bird lover out of her.

Another Sign of Summer

Summer is in full swing here in Florida. I can always tell by the heat, humidity and size of the mosquitoes.

My husband and I enjoy cooking in our outdoor kitchen and eating outside. I cook at least part of the meal outside every evening. The only thing that puts a damper on our enjoyment is the mosquitoes. They can be horrible even with the county spraying for them. Besides the discomfort of the bites, we worry about things like West Nile virus. There have been cases in our area of the state.

I have been looking at the mosquito traps at MosquitoMagnet.com. It looks like a great option to help us get rid of the pesky things. It would be heaven to have a mosquito free patio.

A Surprise

I was excited to hear that two formerly unknown stories by Agatha Christie have been found. I was a huge Agatha Christie fan when I was a teenager. I devoured all of her books and thoroughly enjoyed them. To this day I still enjoy reading mysteries. They are going to be published this fall. I may have to buy and read them for old times sake.
